1For the choir director. A psalm of the sons of Korah.
LORD, you showed kindness to your land.
You brought Jacob back from captivity.
2You forgave the sin of your people.
You covered all their sins.
Selah
3You held back all your fury.
You turned away from your burning anger.
4God who saves us, bring us back again.
Put away your anger toward us.
5Will you be angry with us forever?
Will your anger go on for all time to come?
6Won't you bring us back to life again,
so your people can find their joy in you?
7LORD, show us your faithful love.
Give us your saving help.
8I will listen to what God the LORD will say.
He will surely speak peace to his people and to his faithful ones.
He won't let them go back to their foolish ways.
9His saving help is surely near to those who fear him.
Then his glory will live in our land.
10Faithful love and faithfulness have come together.
What is right and peace have kissed.
11Faithfulness grows up from the earth like a plant.
What is right looks down from heaven.
12The LORD will surely give what is good.
Our land will give its crops.
13What is right will go ahead of him.
It will get the path ready for his steps.
