1A prayer of David.
LORD, bend down and listen to me. Answer me,
for I am poor and in need. 2Guard my life, for I am faithful to you.
You are my God.
Save me, your servant, who trusts in you. 3Lord, show me mercy,
for I call to you all day long. 4Fill your servant with joy,
for to you, Lord, I lift up my soul. 5For you, Lord, are kind and ready to forgive.
You are full of faithful love for all who call on you. 6LORD, hear my prayer.
Listen to me as I beg for mercy. 7When I'm in trouble, I call on you,
because you answer me. 8Lord, there is no one like you among the gods.
No one can do the things you do. 9All the nations you have made will come.
They will bow down before you, Lord.
They will give glory to your name. 10For you are great, and you do amazing things.
You alone are God. 11LORD, teach me your way,
so I can walk in your truth.
Give me a heart that is not divided,
so I can fear your name. 12Lord my God, I will praise you with all my heart.
I will give glory to your name forever. 13For your faithful love for me is great.
You have saved me from the deepest part of the grave.a 14God, proud people rise up against me.
A gang of cruel men wants to kill me.
They don't care about you at all. 15But you, Lord, are a God of mercy and grace.
You are slow to get angry.
You are full of faithful love and faithfulness. 16Turn to me and show me mercy.
Give your strength to me, your servant.
Save the son of your servant girl. 17Show me a sign of your goodness.
Then my enemies will see it and be ashamed.
For you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.
