The Readable English Bible (READ) is an open-source Bible translation written in clear, simple English. It is made for new readers, young readers, people learning English, and anyone who wants the Bible to be easy to understand.

The text of this translation is open, licensed under CC BY 4.0. You are free to read it, copy it, quote it, print it, share it, and use it in your own apps, websites, and ministries. Just give credit to the Readable English Bible.
Developers can download the full text or use the free API.
How it reads
We use short sentences and common words. Where a name or word has a special meaning in Hebrew or Greek, a short note at the bottom of the chapter explains it.
