1A song. A psalm of Asaph.
God, do not be silent.
Do not hold your tongue.
Do not stay still, God. 2See how your enemies are raging!
See how those who hate you lift their heads! 3They make sly plans against your people.
They plot against the ones you love. 4They say, "Come, let's wipe them out as a nation.
Let the name of Israel be forgotten." 5For they all agree and plot together.
They join together against you. 6They are the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,
of Moab and the Hagrites, 7of Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek,
of Philistia and the people of Tyre. 8Even Assyria has joined them.
It gives strength to the sons of Lot. Selah 9Do to them what you did to Midian.
Do what you did to Sisera and Jabin at the Kishon River. 10They perished at Endor.
They became like dung on the ground. 11Make their leaders like Oreb and Zeeb.
Make all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna. 12Those men said, "Let's take the fields of God for ourselves." 13My God, make them like tumbleweeds.
Make them like straw blown by the wind. 14A fire burns up a forest.
A flame sets the mountains on fire. 15Chase them like that with your strong winds.
Scare them with your storm. 16Cover their faces with shame.
Then they will look for your name, LORD. 17May they always be ashamed and afraid.
May they perish in disgrace. 18May they know that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.
Your name is the LORD.
