1A psalm of Asaph.
God takes his place in the meeting of heaven.
He judges among the gods: 2"How long will you judge unfairly?
How long will you take the side of the wicked? Selah 3Stand up for the weak and for children with no father.
Protect the rights of the hurting and mistreated. 4Rescue the weak and needy.
Save them from the power of the wicked. 5They do not know or understand.
They wander around in the dark.
All the foundations of the earth are shaken. 6I said, 'You are gods.
You are all sons of the Most High.' 7But you will die like any human.
You will fall like any ruler." 8Rise up, God, and judge the earth,
for all the nations belong to you.
