1For the choir leader. According to Jeduthun. A psalm of David.
My soul finds rest in God alone.
My rescue comes from him.
2He alone is my rock and the one who saves me.
He is my fort.
I will never be shaken.
3How long will you threaten a man?
Will all of you throw him down,
like a leaning wall or a shaky fence?
4They fully plan to throw him down from his high place.
They love lies.
With their mouths they bless,
but in their hearts they curse. Selah
5Rest in God alone, my soul.
My hope comes from him.
6He alone is my rock and the one who saves me.
He is my fort.
I will not be shaken.
7My rescue and my honor depend on God.
He is my strong rock.
God is my safe place.
8Trust in him at all times, you people.
Pour out your hearts to him.
God is our safe place. Selah
9Common people are only a breath.
Important people are only a lie.
Put them on a scale, and they go up.
All together, they are only a breath.
10Do not trust in forcing money from others.
Do not put false hope in stolen things.
If you get richer,
do not set your heart on your riches.
11God has spoken one time.
I have heard it two times:
Power belongs to God,
12and faithful love belongs to you, Lord.
You will pay back each person
for what he has done.
