1Then the LORD said to Moses, 2"Bring Aaron and his sons, and their clothes. Bring the anointing oil, the bull for the sin offering, the two rams, and the basket of bread made without yeast. 3Gather the whole community at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting." 4So Moses did what the LORD commanded him. The people gathered at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. 5Moses said to them, "This is what the LORD has commanded us to do." 6Then Moses brought Aaron and his sons forward. He washed them with water. 7He put the tunic on Aaron and tied the sash around him. He dressed him in the robe and put the ephod on him. He tied the woven belt of the ephod around him and fastened it on him. 8Then he put the chest piece on him. He put the Urim and Thummim in the chest piece.a 9Moses also put the turban on Aaron's head. On the front of the turban he set the gold plate, the holy crown. He did just as the LORD had commanded him. 10Next, Moses took the anointing oil. He anointed the tabernacle and everything in it. In this way he set them apart as holy. 11He sprinkled some of the oil on the altar seven times. He anointed the altar and all its tools, and the basin with its stand. He did this to set them apart as holy. 12He also poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron's head. He anointed him to set him apart as holy. 13Then Moses brought Aaron's sons forward. He put tunics on them and tied sashes around them. He tied head caps on them, just as the LORD had commanded him. 14Then Moses brought the bull for the sin offering. Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head. 15Moses killed the bull and took some of the blood. With his finger he put it on all four horns of the altar. This made the altar pure. He poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. He set the altar apart as holy so that atonement could be made on it. 16Moses also took all the fat on the inner parts, the long part of the liver, and both kidneys and their fat. He burned it all on the altar. 17But he burned the rest of the bull outside the camp, with its hide, meat, and dung. He did as the LORD had commanded him. 18Then Moses brought the ram for the burnt offering. Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head. 19Moses killed the ram. He splashed the blood on all sides of the altar. 20He cut the ram into pieces. He burned the head, the pieces, and the fat. 21He washed the inner parts and the legs with water. He burned the whole ram on the altar as a burnt offering. Its smell was pleasing. It was a food offering to the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. 22After that, Moses brought the other ram. It was the ram for making them priests. Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head. 23Moses killed the ram and took some of its blood. He put it on the bottom of Aaron's right ear, on his right thumb, and on the big toe of his right foot. 24Moses also brought Aaron's sons forward. He put some of the blood on the bottom of their right ears, on their right thumbs, and on the big toes of their right feet. Then he splashed the blood on all sides of the altar. 25Moses took the fat. He took the fat tail, all the fat on the inner parts, the long part of the liver, and both kidneys with their fat. He also took the right thigh. 26Before the LORD was the basket of bread made without yeast. From it he took one cake of bread without yeast, one cake of bread made with oil, and one wafer. He put them on the fat parts and on the right thigh. 27He put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons. He waved them before the LORD as a wave offering. 28Then Moses took these from their hands. He burned them on the altar on top of the burnt offering. This was the offering for making them priests. Its smell was pleasing. It was a food offering to the LORD. 29He also took the breast, which was Moses' share of the ram for making them priests. He waved it before the LORD as a wave offering, as the LORD had commanded him. 30Next, Moses took some of the anointing oil and some of the blood on the altar. He sprinkled them on Aaron and his clothes, and on his sons and their clothes. In this way he set apart Aaron and his clothes as holy. He also set apart Aaron's sons and their clothes. 31Moses said to Aaron and his sons, "Boil the meat at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. Eat it there with the bread in the basket of offerings for making priests. Do as I commanded when I said, 'Aaron and his sons are to eat it.' 32Then you must burn up the meat and bread that are left. 33Do not go out of the entrance of the Tent of Meeting for seven days. Stay until your days of being made priests are over, because it will take seven days to make you priests. 34The LORD commanded what was done today to make atonement for you. 35Stay at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting day and night for seven days. Do what the LORD requires, so that you will not die. For this is what I have been commanded." 36So Aaron and his sons did everything the LORD had commanded through Moses.
