1On the eighth day Moses called Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel. 2He said to Aaron, "Take a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering. Both must have no defects. Offer them before the LORD. 3Then speak to the Israelites. Say, 'Take a male goat for a sin offering. Take a calf and a lamb for a burnt offering. Both must be a year old and have no defects. 4Take an ox and a ram for a peace offering to offer before the LORD. Take a grain offering mixed with oil. For today the LORD will appear to you.'" 5So they brought what Moses had commanded to the front of the Tent of Meeting. The whole community came near and stood before the LORD. 6Moses said, "This is what the LORD has commanded you to do, so that the glory of the LORD may appear to you." 7Then Moses said to Aaron, "Come near to the altar. Offer your sin offering and your burnt offering to make atonement for yourself and for the people. Then offer the people's offering to make atonement for them, as the LORD has commanded." 8So Aaron came near to the altar. He killed the calf as a sin offering for himself. 9Aaron's sons brought the blood to him. He dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar. He poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. 10On the altar he burned the fat, the kidneys, and the long part of the liver from the sin offering. He did as the LORD had commanded Moses. 11But he burned up the meat and the hide outside the camp. 12Then Aaron killed the burnt offering. His sons brought him the blood. He splashed it on all sides of the altar. 13They brought him the burnt offering piece by piece, with the head. He burned them on the altar. 14He washed the inner parts and the legs. He burned them on top of the burnt offering on the altar. 15Then Aaron brought the people's offering. He took the male goat for the people's sin offering. He killed it and offered it for sin, like the first one. 16He brought the burnt offering and offered it by the rules. 17Next he brought the grain offering. He took a handful of it and burned it on the altar. This was in addition to the morning burnt offering. 18Then he killed the ox and the ram as the people's peace offering. His sons brought him the blood. He splashed it on all sides of the altar. 19They also brought the fat parts from the ox and the ram. They brought the fat tail, the fat covering the inner parts, the kidneys, and the long part of the liver. 20They put these on the breasts. Aaron burned the fat parts on the altar. 21But he waved the breasts and the right thigh before the LORD as a wave offering. He did as Moses had commanded. 22Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them. He had made the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offering. Then he stepped down. 23Then Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people. And the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people. 24Fire came out from the presence of the LORD and burned up the burnt offering and the fat parts on the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted for joy. They fell with their faces to the ground.
