1"When anyone brings a grain offering to the LORD, it must be made of fine flour. He is to pour olive oil on it and put frankincense on it. 2Then he is to bring it to Aaron's sons the priests. The priest is to take a handful of the flour and oil, with all the frankincense. He is to burn this on the altar as the memorial portion. It is a food offering. Its smell pleases the LORD.a 3The rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons. It is a most holy part of the food offerings to the LORD. 4If you bring a grain offering baked in an oven, it must be made of fine flour. It may be cakes made without yeast and mixed with oil. Or it may be thin wafers made without yeast and spread with oil. 5If your grain offering is cooked on a griddle, it must be bread made without yeast. It must be made of fine flour mixed with oil. 6Break it into pieces and pour oil on it. It is a grain offering. 7If your grain offering is cooked in a pan, it must be made of fine flour with oil. 8When you bring the LORD a grain offering made in any of these ways, give it to the priest. He is to take it to the altar. 9The priest is to take the memorial portion from the grain offering. He is to burn it on the altar as a food offering. Its smell pleases the LORD. 10But the rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons. It is a most holy part of the food offerings to the LORD. 11No grain offering that you bring to the LORD may be made with yeast. That is because you must not burn any yeast or honey as a food offering to the LORD. 12You may bring them to the LORD as an offering of firstfruits. But they must not be burned on the altar as a smell that pleases him. 13You must season all your grain offerings with salt. Do not leave out of your grain offering the salt of the covenant of your God. Add salt to all your offerings. 14If you bring a grain offering of firstfruits to the LORD, offer crushed heads of new grain. They must be roasted in the fire. 15Put oil and frankincense on it. It is a grain offering. 16Then the priest is to burn the memorial portion. This is some of the crushed grain and the oil, with all its frankincense. It is a food offering to the LORD.
Notes
- a 2:2 The memorial portion was the small part burned on the altar for the whole offering.
