1Masters, give your slaves what is right and fair. You know that you also have a Master in heaven. 2Give yourselves to prayer. Stay alert and be thankful. 3And pray for us too. Pray that God will open a door for us to share his word. Then we can preach the mystery of Christ. That is why I am in chains. 4Pray that I will make it clear, as I should. 5Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders. Make the most of every chance you get. 6Always let your words be kind and full of grace. Let them be seasoned with salt. Then you will know how to answer everyone. 7Tychicus will tell you all the news about me. He is a dear brother. He is a faithful helper and serves the Lord with me. 8I am sending him to you for this very reason. I want you to know how we are doing. And I want him to encourage your hearts. 9Onesimus is coming with him. He is our faithful and dear brother, and he is one of you. They will tell you everything that is happening here. 10Aristarchus is in prison with me. He sends you greetings. So does Mark, the cousin of Barnabas. You have already been told what to do about Mark. If he comes to you, welcome him. 11Jesus, who is called Justus, also sends greetings. These are the only Jews who work with me for the kingdom of God. They have been a comfort to me. 12Epaphras sends you greetings. He is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus. He is always praying hard for you. He prays that you will stand strong and grown up in your faith. He prays that you will be fully sure of all that God wants. 13I can tell you that he works very hard for you. He also works hard for the people in Laodicea and Hierapolis. 14Luke, the dear doctor, sends you greetings. So does Demas. 15Greet the brothers and sisters in Laodicea. Greet Nympha too, and the church that meets in her house. 16After this letter has been read to you, have it read in the church of the Laodiceans too. And be sure that you read the letter from Laodicea. 17Tell Archippus, "Be sure to finish the work the Lord gave you to do." 18I, Paul, am writing this greeting with my own hand. Remember that I am in chains. Grace be with you.
