1Then the angel showed me Joshua the high priest. He was standing in front of the angel of the LORD. Satan was standing at Joshua's right side to accuse him. 2The LORD said to Satan, "The LORD scolds you, Satan! Yes, the LORD who has chosen Jerusalem scolds you! Isn't this man like a burning stick pulled out of the fire?" 3Joshua was wearing very dirty clothes as he stood in front of the angel. 4So the angel spoke to those standing in front of him. He said, "Take off his dirty clothes!" Then he said to Joshua, "Look, I have taken away your sin. I will dress you in fine robes." 5Then I said, "Let them put a clean turban on his head." So they put a clean turban on his head and dressed him. The angel of the LORD stood nearby. 6Then the angel of the LORD gave Joshua this command: 7"This is what the LORD of Hosts says: 'If you walk in my ways and obey my commands, then you will rule my house. You will also be in charge of my courtyards. And I will give you a place among these who are standing here. 8Listen now, Joshua the high priest. Listen, you and your friends who sit in front of you. They are a sign of things to come. Look, I am going to bring my servant, the Branch. 9Look at the stone I have set in front of Joshua. There are seven eyes on that one stone. Look, I will carve words on it,' says the LORD of Hosts. 'And I will take away the sin of this land in one day. 10On that day,' says the LORD of Hosts, 'each of you will invite your neighbor to sit under your own vine and fig tree.'"
