1Whoever lives in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2I will say to the LORD,
"You are my safe place and my fortress.
You are my God, and I trust in you." 3He will surely save you from the bird hunter's trap
and from deadly sickness. 4He will cover you with his feathers.
You will find safety under his wings.
His faithfulness is a shield and a wall. 5You won't be afraid of the terror at night.
You won't fear the arrow that flies by day. 6You won't fear the sickness that sneaks in the dark,
or the disaster that destroys at noon. 7A thousand may fall at your side.
Ten thousand may fall at your right hand.
But no harm will come near you. 8You will only watch with your eyes.
You will see the wicked get what they deserve. 9Because you have made the LORD your home,
my safe place, the Most High, 10no evil will happen to you.
No sickness will come near your tent. 11For he will command his angels about you.
They will guard you in all your ways. 12They will lift you up in their hands,
so you won't hit your foot on a stone. 13You will step on the lion and the cobra.
You will stomp on the young lion and the snake. 14"He loves me, so I will save him.
He knows my name, so I will protect him. 15When he calls to me, I will answer him.
I will be with him in trouble.
I will save him and honor him. 16I will fill him with a long life.
I will show him how I save."
