1For the choir leader. A psalm of David. A song.
God, praise waits for you in Zion.
We will keep our promises to you.
2You listen to prayer.
All people will come to you.
3When my sins are too strong for me,
you atone for our wrongs.a
4Happy is the one you choose!
You bring him near to live in your courtyards.
We are filled with the good things of your house,
the holy things of your temple.
5God who saves us,
you answer us with amazing deeds of righteousness.
You are the hope of all the ends of the earth
and of the farthest seas.
6You made the mountains by your power.
You dressed yourself with strength.
7You calmed the roaring seas
and the pounding waves.
You calmed the noisy nations too.
8People who live far away fear your wonders.
You make the morning and the evening shout for joy.
9You take care of the earth and water it.
You make it very rich.
The streams of God are full of water,
for you get our grain ready by caring for the earth.
10You soak its rows of plowed ground.
You smooth out its ridges.
You soften it with showers.
You bless what grows there.
11You crown the year with your good gifts.
Your paths spill over with plenty.
12The grasslands in the wilderness spill over.
The hills are dressed with joy.
13The fields are covered with flocks.
The valleys are covered with grain.
They shout for joy.
Yes, they sing.
