1For the choir leader. To be played on stringed instruments. A psalm of David.
Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness!
You have set me free when I was in trouble.
Show me grace and hear my prayer. 2You men, how long will you insult my honor?
How long will you love what is empty and chase after lies?
Selah 3Know this: the LORD has set apart for himself those who are faithful to him.
The LORD hears me when I call to him. 4Be angry, but do not sin.
When you are on your bed, look deep into your heart and be still.
Selah 5Offer the sacrifices of those who do what is right.
Trust in the LORD. 6Many people ask, "Who can show us anything good?"
LORD, let the light of your face shine on us. 7You have filled my heart with joy.
It is more joy than people have when they have lots of grain and new wine. 8I will lie down and sleep in peace.
For you alone, LORD, keep me safe.
