1Shout for joy to the LORD, you who do right!
It is good for honest people to praise him. 2Praise the LORD with the harp.
Make music to him on a harp with ten strings. 3Sing to him a new song.
Play well, and shout for joy. 4For the word of the LORD is right and true.
Everything he does can be trusted. 5The LORD loves what is right and fair.
The earth is full of his faithful love. 6The heavens were made by the word of the LORD.
All the stars were made by the breath of his mouth. 7He piles up the waters of the sea.
He puts the deep waters into storerooms. 8Let all the earth fear the LORD.
Let all the people of the world stand in awe of him. 9For he spoke, and it came to be.
He gave the command, and it stood firm. 10The LORD ruins the plans of the nations.
He stops the plans of the peoples. 11But the plans of the LORD stand forever.
The purposes of his heart last for all generations. 12Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD,
the people he chose to be his own! 13The LORD looks down from heaven.
He sees all people. 14From the place where he lives
he watches all who live on the earth. 15He shapes the heart of each one.
He notices everything they do. 16No king is saved by his huge army.
No soldier is rescued by his great strength. 17It is useless to hope a horse will save you.
Even its great strength cannot save. 18But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him.
They are on those who hope in his faithful love. 19He watches them to save them from death
and keep them alive when there is no food. 20Our souls wait for the LORD.
He is our help and our shield. 21For our hearts are full of joy in him,
since we trust in his holy name. 22LORD, may your faithful love rest on us,
as we put our hope in you.
