1Of David.
LORD, I lift up my soul to you.
2My God, I trust in you.
Do not let me be put to shame.
Do not let my enemies brag over me.
3No one who waits for you will ever be put to shame.
But those who turn against others for no reason will be put to shame.
4LORD, show me your ways.
Teach me your paths.
5Guide me in your truth and teach me.
For you are the God who saves me.
I wait for you all day long.
6LORD, remember your kindness and your faithful love.
They have been there from long ago.
7Do not remember the sins I did when I was young.
Do not remember the times I rebelled.
Remember me because of your faithful love,
because you are good, LORD.
8The LORD is good and does what is right.
So he shows sinners the way to go.
9He guides humble people in what is right.
He teaches them his way.
10All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful
to those who keep his covenant and his laws.
11LORD, for the honor of your name,
forgive my sin, for it is great.
12Who is the man who fears the LORD?
The LORD will teach him the path he should choose.
13He will live a good life.
His children will receive the land.
14The LORD shares his secrets with those who fear him.
He makes his covenant known to them.
15My eyes are always on the LORD.
For he will free my feet from the net.
16Turn to me and be kind to me.
For I am lonely and hurting.
17The troubles of my heart keep growing.
Set me free from my pain.
18Look at my suffering and trouble.
Take away all my sins.
19See how many enemies I have.
See how much they hate me with a cruel hate.
20Guard my soul and rescue me.
Do not let me be put to shame,
for I run to you to be safe.
21May being honest and doing right keep me safe,
because I wait for you.
22O God, redeem Israel
from all its troubles.
