1Hallelujah!
How good it is to sing praises to our God!
How pleasant and lovely it is to praise him! 2The LORD builds up Jerusalem.
He gathers the people of Israel who were sent away. 3He heals those whose hearts are broken.
He bandages their wounds. 4He decides how many stars there are.
He calls each one by name. 5Our Lord is great and mighty in power.
There is no limit to what he understands. 6The LORD holds up the humble.
But he throws the wicked to the ground. 7Sing to the LORD with thanks.
Make music on the harp to our God. 8He covers the sky with clouds.
He gets rain ready for the earth.
He makes grass grow on the hills. 9He gives food to the animals,
and to the young ravens when they call. 10He does not delight in the strength of the horse.
He takes no pleasure in a man's strong legs. 11The LORD is pleased with those who fear him,
with those who hope in his faithful love. 12Jerusalem, lift up the LORD!
Zion, praise your God! 13For he makes the bars of your gates strong.
He blesses your children inside you. 14He brings peace to your borders.
He fills you with the finest wheat. 15He sends out his command to the earth.
His word runs fast. 16He spreads the snow like wool.
He scatters the frost like ashes. 17He throws down his hail like small stones.
Who can stand up to his icy cold? 18He sends out his word and melts them.
He lets his winds blow, and the waters flow. 19He tells his word to Jacob.
He tells his laws and rulings to Israel. 20He has not done this for any other nation.
They do not know his rulings.
Hallelujah!
