¹For the choir leader. Of David.
The fool says in his heart, "There is no God."
They are rotten. The things they do are evil.
There is no one who does good. ²The LORD looks down from heaven at all people.
He looks to see if anyone understands.
He looks to see if anyone seeks God. ³All have turned away.
They have all become rotten together.
There is no one who does good, not even one. ⁴Will these evil people never learn?
They eat up my people as if they were eating bread.
They will not call on the LORD. ⁵Look at them there, filled with terror!
For God is with the people who are right with him. ⁶You sinners spoil the plans of the poor.
But the LORD keeps them safe. ⁷Oh, I wish that Israel's saving help would come from Zion!
When the LORD brings his captured people home,
let Jacob be full of joy! Let Israel be glad!
