1For the choir leader. A psalm of David.
How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me? 2How long must I fight with my thoughts?
How long must I have sadness in my heart every day?
How long will my enemy win over me? 3Look at me and answer me, LORD my God.
Give light to my eyes,
or I will sleep in death. 4or my enemy will say, "I have beaten him,"
and my enemies will be glad when I fall. 5But I have trusted in your faithful love.
My heart will be glad because you save me. 6I will sing to the LORD,
for he has been good to me.
