¹A song for going up to worship.
When I was in trouble, I cried to the LORD.
And he answered me. ²O LORD, save my life from lying lips
and from a tongue that tricks people. ³What will he do to you?
What more will he do to you, you lying tongue? ⁴Sharp arrows will come from the warrior,
with burning coals from the broom tree! ⁵How awful it is for me that I live in Meshech!
I live among the tents of Kedar! ⁶I have lived too long
among people who hate peace. ⁷I am for peace.
But when I speak, they want war.
