1Blessed are those whose way is without blame,
who walk in the Law of the LORD. 2Blessed are those who keep his teachings
and seek him with all their heart. 3They do no wrong.
They walk in his ways. 4You have given us your instructions,
so that we would keep them with great care. 5Oh, how I wish my ways were set
on keeping your rules! 6Then I would not be ashamed
when I look at all your commands. 7I will praise you with an honest heart
as I learn your right and fair decisions. 8I will keep your rules.
Do not forsake me completely. 9How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it with your word. 10I have looked for you with all my heart.
Don't let me wander away from your commands. 11I have hidden your word in my heart,
so that I won't sin against you. 12Blessed are you, O LORD.
Teach me your rules. 13With my lips I tell about
all the decisions that come from your mouth. 14I find joy in following your teachings,
as much as in all riches. 15I will think deeply about your instructions.
I will pay attention to your ways. 16I will take joy in your rules.
I will not forget your word. 17Be very good to your servant,
so that I may live and keep your word. 18Open my eyes so I can see
the wonderful things in your law. 19I am a stranger on the earth.
Don't hide your commands from me. 20My soul is worn out with longing
for your decisions all the time. 21You scold the proud.
They are cursed, and they wander from your commands. 22Take away the shame and hate I face,
for I have kept your teachings. 23Rulers sit and tell lies about me.
But your servant thinks deeply about your rules. 24Your teachings are truly my joy.
They are the ones who give me advice. 25My soul is stuck down in the dust.
Give me new life, as your word promised. 26I told you about my ways, and you answered me.
Teach me your rules. 27Help me understand the way of your instructions.
Then I will think deeply about your wonders. 28My soul melts with sadness.
Make me strong, as your word promised. 29Keep me far from the path of lies.
Be kind and give me your law. 30I have chosen the way of truth.
I have set your decisions in front of me. 31I hold on tight to your teachings, O LORD.
Don't let me be put to shame. 32I run in the path of your commands,
for you will make my heart bigger. 33Teach me, O LORD, the way of your rules.
Then I will keep them to the end. 34Help me understand, so I can obey your law.
I will follow it with all my heart. 35Lead me in the path of your commands,
for I find joy there. 36Turn my heart toward your teachings,
and not toward greed for money. 37Turn my eyes away from worthless things.
Give me new life by your word. 38Keep your promise to your servant,
so that you will be feared and honored. 39Take away the shame that I'm afraid of,
for your decisions are good. 40How I long for your instructions!
Give me new life because you are righteous. 41May your faithful love come to me, O LORD.
May your salvation come, as you promised. 42Then I can answer the one who makes fun of me,
for I trust in your word. 43Never take your word of truth out of my mouth,
for I put my hope in your decisions. 44I will always obey your law,
forever and ever. 45And I will walk around in freedom,
for I have looked for your instructions. 46I will speak about your teachings in front of kings.
And I will not be ashamed. 47I take joy in your commands,
because I love them. 48I lift up my hands to your commands, which I love.
And I think deeply about your rules. 49Remember your word to your servant.
You have given me hope through it. 50This is my comfort when I suffer:
your promise has given me life. 51Proud people make fun of me all the time.
But I do not turn away from your law. 52I remember your decisions from long ago, O LORD.
And they comfort me. 53I am filled with anger
because of the wicked who reject your law. 54Your rules are my songs
in the place where I live as a traveler. 55In the night, O LORD, I remember your name,
so that I may keep your law. 56This is what I do,
for I obey your instructions. 57The LORD is my share.
I have promised to keep your words. 58I have looked for your face with all my heart.
Be kind to me, as you promised. 59I thought about my ways.
Then I turned my steps toward your teachings. 60I hurried and did not wait
to keep your commands. 61The ropes of the wicked are tied around me.
But I do not forget your law. 62At midnight I get up to thank you
for your right and fair decisions. 63I am a friend to all who fear you,
and to those who keep your instructions. 64The earth is full of your faithful love, O LORD.
Teach me your rules. 65You are good to your servant, O LORD,
just as you promised. 66Teach me good sense and knowledge,
for I believe in your commands. 67Before I suffered, I wandered away.
But now I keep your word. 68You are good, and you do what is good.
Teach me your rules. 69The proud have smeared my name with lies.
But I keep your instructions with all my heart. 70Their hearts are hard and feel nothing.
But I take joy in your law. 71It was good for me to suffer,
so that I could learn your rules. 72The law from your mouth is worth more to me
than thousands of pieces of gold and silver. 73Your hands made me and shaped me.
Help me understand so I can learn your commands. 74May those who fear you see me and be glad,
for I have put my hope in your word. 75I know, O LORD, that your decisions are right.
You made me suffer because you are faithful. 76Please let your faithful love comfort me,
just as you promised your servant. 77Let your mercy come to me so I may live,
for your law is my joy. 78May the proud be put to shame,
for they have wronged me with a lie.
But I will think deeply about your instructions. 79May those who fear you turn to me,
those who know your teachings. 80May my heart be without blame in keeping your rules,
so that I will not be put to shame. 81My soul grows weak as I long for you to save me.
I wait for your word. 82My eyes grow tired as I look for your promise.
I ask, "When will you comfort me?" 83I am like a wineskin dried up by smoke.
But I do not forget your rules. 84How many days must your servant wait?
When will you judge those who hurt me? 85The proud have dug pits to trap me.
This goes against your law. 86All your commands can be trusted.
People hunt me down for no reason. Help me! 87They almost wiped me off the earth.
But I have not turned away from your instructions. 88Give me new life because of your faithful love.
Then I will obey the teachings from your mouth. 89Your word, O LORD, lasts forever.
It stands firm in the heavens. 90Your faithfulness goes on through all generations.
You set the earth in place, and it stays. 91Your laws still stand today,
for all things are your servants. 92If your law had not been my joy,
I would have died in my suffering. 93I will never forget your instructions,
for by them you have given me new life. 94I belong to you. Save me,
for I have looked for your instructions. 95The wicked are waiting to destroy me.
But I will think hard about your teachings. 96I have seen that even the most perfect things have an end.
But your command has no end. 97Oh, how I love your law!
I think about it all day long. 98Your commands make me wiser than my enemies,
for they are always with me. 99I understand more than all my teachers,
for I think deeply about your teachings. 100I understand more than the elders,
for I obey your instructions. 101I have kept my feet from every evil path,
so that I may keep your word. 102I have not turned away from your laws,
for you yourself have taught me. 103How sweet your words taste to me.
They are sweeter than honey in my mouth! 104I gain understanding from your instructions.
So I hate every path of lies. 105Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path. 106I have made a promise, and I have made it sure:
I will keep your right and fair decisions. 107I am suffering very much, O LORD.
Give me new life through your word. 108O LORD, accept the gifts that my mouth gladly offers.
Teach me your decisions. 109My life is always in danger.
But I do not forget your law. 110The wicked have set a trap for me.
But I have not wandered from your instructions. 111Your teachings are mine to keep forever,
for they are the joy of my heart. 112I have set my heart on doing what your rules say,
all the way to the end. 113I hate people who can't make up their minds.
But I love your law. 114You are my hiding place and my shield.
I put my hope in your word. 115Go away from me, you who do evil,
so I may obey the commands of my God. 116Hold me up, as you promised, so that I may live.
Don't let me be ashamed of my hope. 117Hold me up, and I will be safe.
Then I will always pay attention to your rules. 118You reject all who wander from your rules,
for their lies come to nothing. 119You throw away all the wicked on earth like trash from melted metal.
So I love your teachings.a 120My body shakes in awe of you.
I am afraid of your judgments. 121I have done what is fair and right.
Don't leave me to those who treat me cruelly. 122Promise that your servant will be well.
Don't let the proud crush me. 123My eyes grow tired as I look for you to save me.
I look for your righteous promise. 124Treat your servant with your faithful love.
Teach me your rules. 125I am your servant. Help me understand,
so I may know your teachings. 126It is time for the LORD to act,
for people have broken your law. 127So I love your commands more than gold,
even the purest gold. 128So I think all your instructions are right.
I hate every path of lies. 129Your teachings are wonderful.
So I obey them. 130When your words are opened up, they give light.
They help simple people understand. 131I open my mouth and pant,
because I long for your commands. 132Turn to me and show me mercy,
as you do for those who love your name. 133Guide my steps by your word.
Don't let any sin rule over me. 134Redeem me from people who treat me cruelly,
so I may keep your instructions. 135Let your face shine on your servant.
Teach me your rules. 136Streams of tears flow from my eyes,
because people do not obey your law. 137You are righteous, O LORD.
Your decisions are right. 138The teachings you have given are right.
They can be fully trusted. 139My strong love for you burns me up,
because my enemies forget your words. 140Your promise is completely pure.
So your servant loves it. 141I am small and looked down on.
But I do not forget your instructions. 142Your righteousness lasts forever.
Your law is true. 143Trouble and pain have found me.
But your commands are my joy. 144Your teachings are right forever.
Help me understand, so I may live. 145I call out with all my heart. Answer me, O LORD!
I will obey your rules. 146I call out to you. Save me,
so I may keep your teachings. 147I get up before dawn and cry for help.
I have put my hope in your word. 148My eyes stay open through the hours of the night,
so I can think deeply about your word. 149Hear my voice, O LORD, because of your faithful love.
Give me life by your fair rulings. 150Those who chase after evil plans are coming near.
They are far from your law. 151But you are near, O LORD.
And all your commands are true. 152Long ago I learned from your teachings
that you set them up to last forever. 153Look at my suffering and rescue me,
for I have not forgotten your law. 154Stand up for me and redeem me.
Give me new life, as your word promised. 155Salvation is far from the wicked,
because they do not look for your rules. 156Your mercies are great, O LORD.
Give me new life by your laws. 157Many people chase me and fight me.
But I have not turned from your teachings. 158I look at people who are not faithful, and I am disgusted,
because they do not keep your word. 159See how I love your instructions, O LORD.
Give me life because of your faithful love. 160All of your word is truth.
All your right and fair decisions last forever. 161Rulers chase after me for no reason.
But my heart fears only your word. 162I am glad about your promise,
like someone who finds a great treasure. 163I hate lies and can't stand them.
But I love your law. 164Seven times a day I praise you
for your right and fair decisions. 165Great peace belongs to those who love your law.
Nothing can make them trip and fall. 166I wait for you to save me, O LORD.
And I do what your commands say. 167I obey your teachings,
and I love them very much. 168I obey your instructions and your teachings,
for you see all that I do. 169May my cry come before you, O LORD.
Help me understand, as your word promised. 170May my prayer come before you.
Rescue me, as you promised. 171Praise pours from my lips,
for you teach me your rules. 172My tongue sings about your word,
for all your commands are right. 173May your hand be ready to help me,
for I have chosen your instructions. 174I long for you to save me, O LORD.
Your law is my joy. 175Let me live so I can praise you.
May your decisions keep me going. 176I have wandered away like a lost sheep.
Come look for your servant,
for I have not forgotten your commands.
