1Then the LORD said to Moses, 2"This is the law for a person with a skin disease. It is for the day he is made clean, when he is brought to the priest. 3The priest must go outside the camp to look at him. The skin disease of the sick person may have healed. 4If so, the priest must order some things to be brought for the person who is being made clean. They are two live clean birds, some cedar wood, some scarlet yarn, and some hyssop. 5Then the priest must order that one of the birds be killed over fresh water in a clay pot. 6He must take the live bird, the cedar wood, the scarlet yarn, and the hyssop. He must dip them into the blood of the bird that was killed over the fresh water. 7He must sprinkle the person seven times. This is the person being made clean from the skin disease. Then the priest must say that he is clean. He must let the live bird go free in the open field. 8The person being made clean must wash his clothes and shave off all his hair. He must bathe in water. Then he will be clean for worship. After that he may come into the camp. But he must stay outside his tent for seven days. 9On the seventh day he must shave off all his hair. He must shave his head, his beard, his eyebrows, and the rest of his hair. He must wash his clothes and bathe in water. Then he will be clean. 10On the eighth day he must bring two male lambs and a female lamb a year old. None of them may have any flaw. He must also bring a grain offering of about 6 quarts of fine flour mixed with olive oil. And he must bring about a third of a quart of olive oil.a 11The priest who makes him clean must bring the person and these offerings before the LORD. He must do this at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. 12Then the priest must take one of the male lambs and offer it as a guilt offering. He must offer it along with the olive oil. He must wave them before the LORD as a wave offering. 13Then he must kill the lamb in the holy area. That is where the sin offering and the burnt offering are killed. The guilt offering belongs to the priest, just like the sin offering. It is most holy. 14The priest must take some of the blood from the guilt offering. He must put it on the bottom of the right ear of the person being made clean. He must also put it on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot. 15Then the priest must take some of the olive oil and pour it into the palm of his own left hand. 16He must dip his right pointer finger into the oil in his left palm. Then he must sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD. 17The priest must take some of the oil left in his palm. He must put it on the bottom of the right ear of the person being made clean. He must put it on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot. He must put it on top of the blood of the guilt offering. 18The priest must put the rest of the oil in his palm on the head of the person being made clean. This makes atonement for him before the LORD. 19Then the priest must offer the sin offering. He must make atonement for the person being made clean from his uncleanness. After that, the priest must kill the burnt offering. 20He must offer it on the altar along with the grain offering. This makes atonement for the person, and he will be clean. 21But the person may be poor and not have enough money for these offerings. Then he must bring one male lamb as a guilt offering. It will be waved to make atonement for him. He must also bring about 2 quarts of fine flour mixed with olive oil for a grain offering. And he must bring about a third of a quart of olive oil.b 22He must also bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons, whichever he can afford. One will be a sin offering, and the other will be a burnt offering. 23On the eighth day he must bring them to the priest to be made clean. He must bring them to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, before the LORD. 24The priest must take the lamb for the guilt offering and the olive oil. He must wave them before the LORD as a wave offering. 25The priest must kill the lamb for the guilt offering. Then he must take some of its blood. He must put it on the bottom of the right ear of the person being made clean. He must also put it on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot. 26Then the priest must pour some of the oil into the palm of his own left hand. 27With his right pointer finger, he must sprinkle some of the oil in his left palm seven times before the LORD. 28The priest must also put some of the oil in his palm on the person being made clean. He must put it on the bottom of his right ear, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. These are the same places where he put the blood of the guilt offering. 29The priest must put the rest of the oil in his palm on the head of the person being made clean. This makes atonement for him before the LORD. 30Then he must offer the turtledoves or young pigeons, whichever the person can afford. 31One is a sin offering, and the other is a burnt offering. He must offer them with the grain offering. In this way the priest will make atonement before the LORD for the person being made clean. 32This is the law for someone who has a skin disease and does not have enough money to pay for his cleansing." 33Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, 34"You will go into the land of Canaan. I am giving it to you to own. I may put mildew into a house in that land. 35Then the owner of the house must come and tell the priest, 'Something like mildew has shown up in my house.' 36The priest must order that everything be taken out of the house before he goes in to look at the mildew. Then nothing in the house will become unclean. After this, the priest must go in to look at the house. 37He must look at the house closely. The mildew on the walls may be green or red hollow spots. They may seem to be deeper than the surface of the wall. 38If so, the priest must go out the door of the house. He must close the house up for seven days. 39On the seventh day the priest must come back and look at the house. The mildew may have spread on the walls. 40If so, he must order that the stones with mildew be pulled out. They must be thrown into an unclean place outside the city. 41He must have the inside walls of the house scraped all over. The plaster that is scraped off must be dumped in an unclean place outside the city. 42Then other stones must be gotten to take the place of the stones with mildew. More mortar must be gotten to plaster the house again. 43The stones may have been torn out, and the house scraped and plastered again. But the mildew may come back in the house. 44Then the priest must come and look at it. If the mildew has spread in the house, it is a mildew that ruins things. The house is unclean. 45It must be torn down, with its stones, its wood beams, and all its plaster. All of it must be taken outside the city to an unclean place. 46Anyone who goes into the house while it is closed up will be unclean until evening. 47Anyone who sleeps in the house or eats in it must wash his clothes. 48But the priest may come and look at it, and the mildew has not spread after the house was plastered again. Then he must say that the house is clean, because the mildew is gone. 49To make the house pure, he must take two birds, some cedar wood, some scarlet yarn, and some hyssop. 50He must kill one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot. 51Then he must take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet yarn, and the live bird. He must dip them in the blood of the bird that was killed and in the fresh water. Then he must sprinkle the house seven times. 52He must make the house clean with the bird's blood and the fresh water. He must use the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the scarlet yarn. 53Last of all, he must let the live bird go free in the open fields outside the city. In this way he will make atonement for the house, and it will be clean. 54This is the law for any skin disease that spreads and for a scaly sore. 55It is the law for mildew in clothing or in a house. 56It is the law for a swelling, a rash, or a spot. 57It shows when something is clean or unclean. This is the law about skin diseases and mildew."
