1For Zion's sake I will not keep quiet.
For Jerusalem's sake I will not stay still.
I will not stop until her rightness shines like a bright light,
until her salvation burns like a torch.
2The nations will see your rightness.
All kings will see your glory.
You will be called by a new name.
The LORD himself will give you that name.
3You will be a beautiful crown in the LORD's hand.
You will be a royal crown in the palm of your God.
4No one will call you Forsaken anymore.
No one will name your land Empty.
Instead, you will be called Hephzibah.
Your land will be called Beulah.
For the LORD will take delight in you.
Your land will be his bride.a
5A young man marries a young woman.
In the same way, your sons will marry you.
A groom is full of joy over his bride.
In the same way, your God will be full of joy over you.
6Jerusalem, I have placed watchmen on your walls.
They will never be silent, day or night.
You who call on the LORD,
do not take any rest for yourselves.
7And do not give him any rest
until he makes Jerusalem strong
and makes her the praise of the earth.
8The LORD has made a promise
by his right hand and by his mighty arm:
"I will never again give your grain to your enemies to eat.
Foreigners will not drink the new wine
that you worked so hard for.
9For those who harvest the grain will eat it
and praise the LORD.
Those who gather the grapes will drink the wine
in the courtyards of my holy place."
10Go out, go out through the gates!
Get the road ready for the people!
Build it up, build up the highway!
Clear away the stones!
Raise a flag for the nations!
11Look, the LORD has announced to the ends of the earth,
"Say to Daughter Zion,
'See, your Savior is coming!
Look, he brings his reward with him.
The payment he will give goes ahead of him.'"
12They will be called the Holy People,
the Redeemed of the LORD.
And you will be called Sought Out,
the City Not Forsaken.
