1This is what the LORD says:
"Keep on doing what is fair and what is right.
For I will soon come to save you.
My righteousness will soon be shown.
2Blessed is the person who does this.
Blessed is the one who holds on to it.
He keeps the Sabbath and does not treat it as unholy.
He keeps his hand from doing anything evil."
3A foreigner may have joined himself to the LORD.
He should not say,
"The LORD will surely keep me away from his people."
And the eunuch should not say,
"I am only a dried-up tree."
4For this is what the LORD says:
"Some eunuchs keep my Sabbaths.
They choose what pleases me.
They hold on tight to my covenant.
5To them I will give something in my house and inside my walls.
I will give them a monument and a name
better than sons and daughters.
I will give them a name that lasts forever.
It will never be cut off.
6Some foreigners join themselves to the LORD.
They serve him and love the name of the LORD.
They are his servants.
They keep the Sabbath and do not treat it as unholy.
They hold on tight to my covenant.
7I will bring them to my holy mountain.
I will give them joy in my house of prayer.
I will accept their burnt offerings and sacrifices on my altar.
For my house will be called
a house of prayer for all the nations."
8This is what the Lord GOD says.
He gathers the scattered people of Israel.
"I will gather still others to them,
besides those I have already gathered."
9Come, all you wild animals of the field.
Come and eat all you want, all you animals of the forest.
10Israel's watchmen are blind.
None of them know what is going on.
They are all dogs that cannot bark.
They lie around and dream.
They love to sleep.
11They are like hungry dogs that are never full.
They are shepherds who do not understand.
They all turn to their own way.
Each one looks out only for himself.
12"Come," they say, "let me get the wine.
Let us drink lots of strong drink.
Tomorrow will be like today,
only much better!"
