1Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo. He went to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the LORD showed him the whole land. He showed him from Gilead all the way to Dan, 2all of Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh. He showed him all the land of Judah as far as the Western Sea, 3the Negev, and the land from the Valley of Jericho all the way to Zoar. Jericho is the City of Palms. 4Then the LORD said to him, "This is the land I promised with an oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I said, 'I will give it to your children after you.' I have let you see it with your own eyes. But you will not cross over into it." 5So Moses, the servant of the LORD, died there in the land of Moab, just as the LORD had said. 6The LORD buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, across from Beth-peor. To this day no one knows where his grave is. 7Moses was 120 years old when he died. But his eyes were not weak, and his strength was not gone. 8The Israelites cried for Moses in the plains of Moab for thirty days. Then the time of crying and mourning for Moses was over. 9Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites obeyed Joshua. They did what the LORD had commanded Moses. 10Since then, no prophet like Moses has come up in Israel. The LORD knew Moses face to face. 11No other prophet has done all the signs and wonders the LORD sent Moses to do. Moses did them in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, to all his officials, and to all his land. 12No other prophet has done all the mighty acts of power and the awesome things that Moses did in front of all Israel.
