1At that time Michael will rise up. He is the great prince who protects your people. There will be a time of trouble. It will be worse than anything since nations began until that time. But at that time your people will be saved. Everyone whose name is found written in the book will be saved. 2Many who sleep in the dust of the earth will wake up. Some will wake up to life that lasts forever. Others will wake up to shame and to disgrace that lasts forever. 3Then those who are wise will shine like the bright sky. Those who lead many people to be right with God will shine like the stars forever and ever. 4But you, Daniel, close up these words. Seal the book until the time of the end. Many people will run here and there. And knowledge will grow." 5Then I, Daniel, looked. I saw two others standing there. One was on this bank of the river. The other was on the far bank. 6One of them spoke to the man dressed in linen. He was above the waters of the river. He asked, "How long will it be until these amazing things come true?" 7The man dressed in linen was above the waters of the river. He raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven. I heard him make a promise in the name of the One who lives forever. He said, "It will be for a time, times, and half a time. The power of the holy people will finally be broken. Then all these things will be finished." 8I heard what he said, but I didn't understand. So I asked, "My lord, how will all this turn out?" 9He answered, "Go on your way, Daniel. These words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 10Many will be made pure and clean and without fault. But the wicked will keep on doing evil. None of the wicked will understand. But those who are wise will understand. 11The daily sacrifice will be stopped. The disgusting thing that brings ruin will be set up. From that time there will be 1,290 days. 12Blessed is the one who waits and reaches the end of the 1,335 days. 13But as for you, go on your way until the end. You will rest. Then at the end of the days, you will rise up to receive your share."
