Bible Verses About Faith

What faith is, why it matters, and how to keep trusting God.

  1. Hebrews 11:1

Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being certain of what we cannot see.

  2. Hebrews 11:6

Without faith it is impossible to please God. Anyone who comes to God must believe that he is real. And they must believe that he rewards those who truly look for him.

  3. Romans 10:17

So faith comes from hearing the message. And the message is heard through the word about Christ.

  4. Mark 11:22-24

22"Have faith in God," Jesus said to them. 23"I tell you the truth. Someone may say to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea.' If he has no doubt in his heart, but believes it will happen, it will be done for him. 24So I tell you, whatever you ask for when you pray, believe that you have received it. Then it will be yours.

  5. Ephesians 2:8-9

8It is by grace you have been saved, through faith. This did not come from you. It is God's gift. 9It does not come from the things you do. So no one can brag about it.

  6. 2 Corinthians 5:7

We live by faith, not by sight.

  7. Proverbs 3:5-6

5Trust in the LORD with all your heart. Don't depend on your own understanding. 6In all your ways, remember him. And he will make your paths straight.

  8. Matthew 17:20

"Because your faith is so small," he answered. "For I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

  9. James 1:6

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt. A person who doubts is like a wave of the sea. The wind blows it and tosses it around.

  10. Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ. I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. I now live my life in this body by faith in the Son of God. He loved me and gave himself for me.

  11. Romans 1:17

The good news shows how God makes people right with him. It is by faith from start to finish. As it is written, "The one who is right with God will live by faith."
