1For the music leader. According to mahalath. A maskil of David.
The fool says in his heart, "There is no God."
They are corrupt. Their ways are disgusting.
There is no one who does good.a
2God looks down from heaven on all people.
He looks to see if anyone understands,
if anyone looks for God.
3All have turned away.
Together they have become corrupt.
There is no one who does good, not even one.
4Will those who do evil never learn?
They eat up my people like bread.
They will not call on God.
5There they are, filled with terror,
where there was nothing to fear.
For God has scattered the bones of those who attacked you.
You put them to shame, for God has rejected them.
6Oh, I wish the saving of Israel would come from Zion!
When God brings back his captured people,
let Jacob be full of joy! Let Israel be glad!
