1A song. A psalm of the sons of Korah.
The LORD is great!
He should be praised greatly in the city of our God,
on his holy mountain.
2Mount Zion is high and beautiful.
It is the joy of all the earth.
It is like the peaks of Zaphon.
It is the city of the great King.
3God is in her strong towers.
He has shown that he is a strong fort.
4Look, the kings gathered together.
They all marched forward together.
5They saw it and were amazed.
They ran away in terror.
6They began to shake there.
They were in pain like a woman giving birth.
7With a wind from the east,
you wrecked the ships of Tarshish.
8We have heard about it, and now we have seen it
in the city of the LORD of Hosts, in the city of our God.
God will make her stand firm forever. Selah
9God, in your temple
we think about your faithful love.
10God, your name reaches to the ends of the earth.
So does your praise.
Your right hand is full of what is right.
11Mount Zion is glad.
The daughters of Judah are full of joy
because of your judgments.
12Walk around Zion. Go all the way around her.
Count her towers.
13Look closely at her walls.
Go through her strong towers.
Then you can tell the next generation.
14For this God is our God forever and ever.
He will be our guide even until death.
