1For the music leader. A psalm of David, the servant of the LORD.
A message is in my heart about the sin of the wicked man.
He has no fear of God before his eyes. 2For his eyes are too full of pride.
He can't see his own sin or hate it. 3The words of his mouth are wicked and full of lies.
He has stopped being wise and doing good. 4Even on his bed he plans evil.
He sets himself on a path that is not good.
He does not say no to evil. 5LORD, your faithful love reaches to the heavens.
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. 6Your righteousness is like the highest mountains.
Your judgments are like the deepest sea.
LORD, you keep both people and animals alive. 7God, how precious is your faithful love!
People find safety in the shadow of your wings. 8They feast on all the good things in your house.
You give them drink from your river of joys. 9For you have the fountain of life.
In your light we see light. 10Keep showing your faithful love to those who know you.
Keep showing your righteousness to those whose hearts are honest. 11Don't let the foot of the proud come against me.
Don't let the hand of the wicked drive me away. 12There the evildoers lie fallen.
They are thrown down and can't get up.
