1A Miktam of David.
Keep me safe, O God,
for I run to you to be safe.a 2I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord.
Without you I have nothing good." 3As for God's people in the land,
they are the great ones.
All my joy is in them. 4Those who run after other gods will have more and more sorrow.
I will not pour out their offerings of blood.
I will not even say the names of their gods. 5The LORD is my chosen share and my cup.
You keep safe what is mine. 6The lines of my land have fallen in pleasant places.
The land I received is truly wonderful. 7I will praise the LORD, who gives me advice.
Even at night my heart teaches me. 8I always keep the LORD in front of me.
He is at my right hand,
so I will not be shaken. 9So my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts for joy.
My body also will rest safely. 10For you will not leave my soul in the grave.
You will not let your Holy One rot away.b 11You have shown me the path of life.
You will fill me with joy when I am with you.
At your right hand are pleasures that last forever.
