1Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD.
Praise him, you servants of the LORD, 2who stand in the house of the LORD,
in the courtyards of the house of our God. 3Hallelujah, for the LORD is good!
Sing praises to his name, for it is lovely. 4For the LORD has chosen Jacob as his own.
He chose Israel as his special treasure. 5For I know that the LORD is great.
Our Lord is above all gods. 6The LORD does whatever pleases him.
He does it in the heavens and on the earth,
in the seas and in all their depths. 7He makes the clouds rise from the ends of the earth.
He makes lightning with the rain.
He brings the wind out of his storehouses. 8He struck down the firstborn of Egypt,
both people and animals. 9He sent signs and wonders among you, Egypt.
He sent them against Pharaoh and all his servants. 10He struck down many nations
and killed mighty kings: 11Sihon king of the Amorites,
Og king of Bashan,
and all the kings of Canaan. 12He gave their land as an inheritance.
He gave it as a lasting gift to his people Israel. 13Your name, LORD, lasts forever.
Your fame, LORD, goes on through all generations. 14For the LORD will stand up for his people.
He will show mercy to his servants. 15The idols of the nations are silver and gold.
They are made by human hands. 16They have mouths, but they can't speak.
They have eyes, but they can't see. 17They have ears, but they can't hear.
There is no breath in their mouths. 18Those who make them will become like them,
and so will all who trust in them. 19Family of Israel, bless the LORD!
Family of Aaron, bless the LORD! 20Family of Levi, bless the LORD!
You who fear the LORD, bless the LORD! 21May the LORD be praised from Zion,
the one who lives in Jerusalem.
Hallelujah!
