¹A song for going up to worship.
Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD! ²O Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears listen closely as I beg for mercy. ³O LORD, if you kept a list of sins,
who could stand, O Lord? ⁴But with you there is forgiveness,
so that you will be feared. ⁵I wait for the LORD. My soul waits.
I put my hope in his word. ⁶My soul waits for the Lord
more than guards wait for the morning,
more than guards wait for the morning. ⁷O Israel, put your hope in the LORD,
for with the LORD there is faithful love.
With him there is full redemption. ⁸He himself will redeem Israel
from all their sins.
