PsalmsChapter 127

1A song for going up to worship. A psalm of Solomon.
Unless the LORD builds the house,
its builders work for nothing.
Unless the LORD protects the city,
its guards stand watch for nothing. 2It does no good to get up early and stay up late,
working hard for bread to eat.
For he gives sleep to those he loves. 3Children are truly a gift from the LORD.
Babies are a reward from him. 4Children born to a young father
are like arrows in the hand of a warrior. 5Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.
He will not be put to shame
when he faces his enemies at the city gate.
