PsalmsChapter 122

1A song for going up to worship. A psalm of David.
I was glad when they said to me,
"Let's go to the house of the LORD." 2Our feet are standing
inside your gates, O Jerusalem. 3Jerusalem is built as a city
that is joined closely together. 4That is where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD.
It is the rule for Israel
to give thanks to the name of the LORD there. 5For there the thrones for judging stand.
They are the thrones of the family of David. 6Pray for peace for Jerusalem:
"May those who love you do well. 7May there be peace inside your walls.
May there be good things inside your strong towers." 8For the sake of my brothers and friends,
I will say, "May peace be inside you." 9For the sake of the house of the LORD our God,
I will look for what is good for you.
