1Praise the LORD, my soul!
LORD my God, you are very great.
You are dressed in glory and majesty.
2He wraps himself in light like a robe.
He spreads out the heavens like a tent.
3He sets the beams of his rooms in the waters above.
He makes the clouds his chariot.
He rides on the wings of the wind.
4He makes the winds his messengers.
He makes flames of fire his servants.
5He set the earth on its foundations.
It can never be moved.
6You covered the earth with the deep sea like a robe.
The waters stood above the mountains.
7When you spoke sharply, the waters ran away.
At the sound of your thunder they hurried off.
8The mountains rose up.
The valleys sank down to the place you set for them.
9You set a border the waters can't cross.
They will never cover the earth again.
10He sends springs into the valleys.
They flow between the mountains.
11They give water to every wild animal.
The wild donkeys drink their fill.
12The birds of the sky nest by the springs.
They sing among the branches.
13He waters the mountains from his rooms above.
The earth is filled with the fruit of his work.
14He makes grass grow for the cattle.
He gives plants for people to grow.
So they bring food out of the earth:
15wine that makes people's hearts glad,
oil that makes their faces shine,
and bread that gives their hearts strength.
16The LORD's trees get plenty of water,
the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.
17The birds build their nests there.
The stork makes her home in the cypress trees.
18The high mountains belong to the wild goats.
The cliffs are a safe place for the rock badgers.
19He made the moon to mark the seasons.
The sun knows when to go down.
20You bring darkness, and it becomes night.
Then all the animals of the forest creep around.
21The young lions roar for their prey.
They look to God for their food.
22The sun comes up, and they go away.
They lie down in their dens.
23Then people go out to their work.
They work hard until evening.
24LORD, you have made so many things!
You made them all with wisdom.
The earth is full of your creatures.
25Look at the sea, so big and wide!
It is full of more creatures than anyone can count.
There are living things both large and small.
26The ships sail there.
Leviathan is there too.
You made him to play in the sea.
27All creatures look to you
to give them their food at the right time.
28When you give it to them, they gather it up.
When you open your hand, they are filled with good things.
29When you hide your face, they are afraid.
When you take away their breath,
they die and go back to dust.
30When you send your Spirit, they are created.
You make the face of the earth new again.
31May the glory of the LORD last forever.
May the LORD be glad in what he has made.
32He looks at the earth, and it shakes.
He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
33I will sing to the LORD all my life.
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
34May my thoughts please him,
for I find my joy in the LORD.
35May sinners disappear from the earth.
May the wicked be gone forever.
Praise the LORD, my soul.
Hallelujah!
