1So, my brothers and sisters, I love you and miss you. You are my joy and my crown. This is how you must stand firm in the Lord, my dear friends. 2I beg Euodia and Syntyche to agree with each other in the Lord. 3Yes, and I ask you, my true partner, to help these women. They worked hard beside me to spread the good news. So did Clement and the rest of my coworkers. Their names are in the Book of Life. 4Always be full of joy in the Lord. I will say it again: Be full of joy! 5Let everyone see how gentle you are. The Lord is near. 6Don't worry about anything. Instead, pray about everything. Ask God for what you need, and thank him. Tell God what you want. 7Then God's peace will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. His peace is greater than anything we can understand. 8Finally, brothers and sisters, think about things that are true and honorable. Think about things that are right and pure. Think about things that are lovely and worth admiring. If anything is excellent or worth praising, think about these things. 9Keep doing what you learned and received from me. Do what you heard from me and saw in me. And the God of peace will be with you. 10I am so full of joy in the Lord that you are caring for me again at last. You did care before, but you had no chance to show it. 11I am not saying this because I need anything. I have learned to be happy with what I have, no matter what happens. 12I know how to live with little. I know how to live with a lot. I have learned the secret of being happy in every kind of situation. I know how to be full and how to be hungry. I know how to have plenty and how to be in need. 13I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. 14Still, it was good of you to share in my troubles. 15You people of Philippi know what happened in the early days of the good news. When I left Macedonia, no church helped me in giving and receiving except you. 16Even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent help for my needs again and again. 17I am not looking for a gift. I am looking for the fruit that will be added to your account. 18I have everything I need and more. Epaphroditus brought me your gifts. They are like an offering with a sweet smell. They are a sacrifice God accepts. They make him very pleased. 19And my God will give you everything you need. He will give it from his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. 20Glory to our God and Father forever and ever. Amen. 21Greet all of God's people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me send you greetings. 22All of God's people here send you greetings. This is true most of all for those in Caesar's household. 23May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
