1Then the LORD said to Moses, 2"Speak to the Israelites. Tell them this: You will enter the land I am giving you as a home. 3Then when you bring the LORD a food offering from your herd or flock, to make a smell that pleases the LORD, here is what to do. It may be a burnt offering or a sacrifice. It may be for a special promise, a freewill offering, or a set feast. 4The one who brings his offering to the LORD must also bring a grain offering. It must be two quarts of fine flour mixed with one quart of olive oil.a 5With each lamb for the burnt offering or sacrifice, prepare one quart of wine as a drink offering.b 6With a ram, prepare a grain offering of four quarts of fine flour mixed with one and a quarter quarts of olive oil.c 7Also give one and a quarter quarts of wine as a drink offering. Its smell will please the LORD.d 8When you prepare a young bull as a burnt offering or a sacrifice, to keep a promise or as a peace offering to the LORD, 9bring a grain offering with the bull. It must be six quarts of fine flour mixed with two quarts of olive oil.e 10Also bring two quarts of wine as a drink offering. It is a food offering, and its smell will please the LORD.f 11Do this for each bull, ram, lamb, or goat. 12Prepare each one this way, no matter how many you bring. 13Everyone born an Israelite must do these things this way. Do it when you bring a food offering with a smell that pleases the LORD. 14For all time to come, a foreigner may live with you, or someone else may be among you. If he wants to bring a food offering with a smell that pleases the LORD, he must do it just the way you do. 15The community must have the same rule for you and for the foreigner who lives with you. This rule lasts forever, for all your children's children. You and the foreigner are the same before the LORD. 16The same law and the same rule will be for you and for the foreigner who lives with you." 17Then the LORD said to Moses, 18"Speak to the Israelites. Tell them this: You will enter the land I am bringing you to. 19When you eat the food of that land, you must lift up an offering to the LORD. 20Take a loaf from the first of your dough and lift it up as a gift. Offer it the same way as an offering from the threshing floor. 21For all time to come, give the LORD an offering from the first of your dough. 22Suppose you go wrong without meaning to. You don't obey all these commands the LORD gave Moses. 23These are all the things the LORD has commanded you through Moses. They are from the day the LORD gave them, and they go on for all time to come. 24If the community did it without meaning to and without knowing it, here is what to do. The whole community must prepare one young bull as a burnt offering. Its smell will please the LORD. Bring it with its grain offering and drink offering, as the rule says. Also bring one male goat as a sin offering. 25The priest must make atonement for the whole community of Israel. Then they will be forgiven, because the sin was not on purpose. They have brought the LORD a food offering and a sin offering for the sin they did without meaning to. 26So the whole community of Israel will be forgiven. The foreigners living among them will be forgiven too, because all the people did it without meaning to. 27Or suppose one person sins without meaning to. He must bring a female goat a year old as a sin offering. 28The priest must make atonement before the LORD for the person who sinned by mistake. When atonement is made for him, he will be forgiven. 29You must have the same law for anyone who sins by mistake. It does not matter if he was born an Israelite or is a foreigner living among you. 30But anyone who sins on purpose, whether born an Israelite or a foreigner, speaks against the LORD with contempt. That person must be cut off from his people. 31He must surely be cut off, because he has looked down on the word of the LORD and broken his command. His guilt stays on him." 32While the Israelites were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day. 33The people who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses, Aaron, and the whole community. 34No one had told them yet what should be done to him. So they kept him under guard. 35Then the LORD said to Moses, "The man must be put to death. The whole community must stone him outside the camp." 36So the whole community took the man outside the camp. They stoned him to death, as the LORD had commanded Moses. 37And the LORD said to Moses, 38"Speak to the Israelites. Tell them to make tassels for the corners of their clothes, for all time to come. They must put a blue cord on each tassel. 39You will have these tassels to look at. Then you will remember all the LORD's commands and obey them. You will not chase after what your own heart and eyes want. Doing that would make you unfaithful, like a prostitute. 40Then you will remember and obey all my commands. You will be holy to your God. 41I am the LORD your God. I brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD your God."
