¹Then the LORD said to Moses, ²"Tell the Israelites this: 'Any Israelite, or any foreigner living in Israel, who gives any of his children to Molech must be put to death. The people of the land must stone him. ³I will turn my face against that man. I will cut him off from his people, because he gave his child to Molech. By doing this, he made my sanctuary impure and dishonored my holy name. ⁴Suppose a man gives one of his children to Molech. If the people of the land ever close their eyes to it and do not put him to death, ⁵Then I will turn my face against that man and his family. I will cut him off from his people. I will also cut off all who follow him and chase after Molech like a prostitute. ⁶If a person turns to people who call up the dead or to people who talk with spirits, and chases after them like a prostitute, I will turn my face against that person too. I will cut him off from his people. ⁷So set yourselves apart for me, and be holy. For I am the LORD your God. ⁸You must keep my laws and obey them. I am the LORD who makes you holy. ⁹Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death. He has cursed his father or mother. His death is his own fault. ¹⁰If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, his neighbor's wife, both the man and the woman who committed adultery must be put to death. ¹¹If a man has sex with his father's wife, he has shamed his father. Both of them must be put to death. Their death is their own fault. ¹²If a man has sex with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. They have done a twisted, perverse thing. Their death is their own fault. ¹³If a man has sex with a man as he would with a woman, both of them have done a hateful sin. They must be put to death. Their death is their own fault. ¹⁴If a man marries both a woman and her mother, that is wicked. He and both women must be burned in the fire. Then there will be no such wickedness among you. ¹⁵If a man has sex with an animal, he must be put to death. You must also kill the animal. ¹⁶If a woman goes near any animal to mate with it, you must kill both the woman and the animal. They must be put to death. Their death is their own fault. ¹⁷If a man marries his sister, the daughter of his father or of his mother, and they have sex, that is a disgrace. They must be cut off in front of their people. He has shamed his sister. He will carry the guilt for his sin. ¹⁸If a man lies with a woman during her monthly period and has sex with her, he has uncovered the source of her flow. And she has uncovered the source of her blood. Both of them must be cut off from their people. ¹⁹You must not have sex with your mother's sister or your father's sister. That would shame your own close relative. Both of them will carry the guilt for their sin. ²⁰If a man has sex with his uncle's wife, he has shamed his uncle. They will carry the guilt for their sin. They will die without children. ²¹If a man marries his brother's wife, that is an impure act. He has shamed his brother. They will have no children. ²²So you must keep all my laws and rules. Then the land where I am bringing you to live will not throw you up. ²³You must not follow the customs of the nations I am driving out ahead of you. They did all these things, so I hated them. ²⁴But I have told you that you will take their land as your own. I will give it to you to own. It is a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the LORD your God. I have set you apart from the other peoples. ²⁵So you must know the difference between clean and unclean animals and birds. Do not make yourselves unclean by any animal or bird. Do not do it by anything that crawls on the ground. I have set these apart as unclean for you. ²⁶You must be holy to me, because I, the LORD, am holy. I have set you apart from the nations to be my own. ²⁷A man or a woman who calls up the dead or talks with spirits must be put to death. They must be stoned. Their death is their own fault.'"
