1And the LORD said to Job, 2"Will the one who finds fault argue with the Almighty?
Let the one who argues with God give an answer." 3Then Job answered the LORD. He said, 4"Look, I am not important.
How can I answer you?
I put my hand over my mouth. 5I spoke once, but I have no answer.
I spoke twice, but I have nothing more to say." 6Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind. He said, 7"Now get ready like a man.
I will ask you questions, and you will answer me. 8Would you really say I am not fair?
Would you say I am guilty so you can look right? 9Do you have an arm like God's?
Can your voice thunder like his? 10Then dress yourself in majesty and glory.
Put on honor and splendor like clothes. 11Let your great anger loose.
Look at every proud man and bring him down. 12Look at every proud man and make him humble.
Crush the wicked right where they stand. 13Bury them all together in the dust.
Lock them up in the grave. 14Then I will admit to you
that your own right hand can save you. 15Look at Behemoth.
I made him, just as I made you.
He eats grass like an ox. 16See how strong his hips are.
See the power in the muscles of his belly. 17His tail sways like a cedar tree.
The muscles of his thighs are tightly woven together. 18His bones are like pipes of bronze.
His legs are like bars of iron. 19He is first among the things God made.
Only his Maker can come at him with a sword. 20The hills give him their food,
while all the wild animals play nearby. 21He lies under the lotus plants.
He hides among the reeds in the swamp. 22The lotus plants hide him in their shade.
The willow trees by the stream are all around him. 23When the river rages, Behemoth is not afraid.
He stays calm and safe,
even when the Jordan rushes up to his mouth. 24Can anyone catch him while he is watching?
Can anyone trap him and put a hook through his nose?
