1On that day seven women will grab hold of one man. They will say, "We will eat our own bread. We will get our own clothes. Just let us be called by your name. Take away our shame!" 2On that day the Branch of the LORD will be beautiful and glorious. The fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of Israel's survivors. 3Those left in Zion will be called holy. Those who remain in Jerusalem will be called holy. This means all in Jerusalem whose names are written down among the living. 4This will happen when the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion. He will clean the bloodstains from the heart of Jerusalem. He will do it by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of fire. 5Then the LORD will make a cloud of smoke by day over all of Mount Zion and over her gatherings. He will make a glowing, flaming fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a covering, 6a shelter that gives shade from the heat in the daytime. It will be a safe place to hide from the storm and the rain.
