1The word of the LORD came to me. He said, 2"Son of man, turn your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog. He is the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. Prophesy against him. 3Tell him that this is what the Lord GOD says: Look, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. 4I will turn you around and put hooks in your jaws. I will bring you out with your whole army. I will bring your horses and your horsemen in full armor. I will bring a great crowd of soldiers with large and small shields. All of them will be waving their swords. 5Persia, Cush, and Put will go with them. All of them will have shields and helmets. 6Gomer will come with all its troops. Beth-togarmah will come from the far north with all its troops. Many nations will be with you. 7Get ready. Prepare yourself, you and all the crowd gathered around you. You will be their guard. 8After a long time you will be called. In the years to come, you will march into a land that has healed from war. Its people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel. Those mountains had been empty a long time. The people were brought out from the nations, and now they all live in safety. 9You and all your troops and many peoples with you will go up. You will come on like a storm. You will be like a cloud covering the land. 10This is what the Lord GOD says: On that day, thoughts will come into your mind. You will make an evil plan. 11You will say, 'I will attack a land of villages with no walls. I will come against a peaceful people who live in safety. All of them live without walls or bars or gates. 12I will go to grab their goods and carry off what I steal. I will turn my hand against the ruins where people now live. I will come against a people gathered from the nations. They have gotten livestock and goods, and they live at the center of the land.' 13Sheba and Dedan and the traders of Tarshish with all its villages will ask you, 'Have you come to take the goods? Have you gathered your great crowds to carry off what you steal? Will you take away silver and gold? Will you take cattle and goods and grab a huge amount of loot?' 14So prophesy, son of man. Tell Gog that this is what the Lord GOD says: On that day my people Israel will be living in safety. Won't you notice this? 15You will come from your home in the far north. Many peoples will come with you, all riding horses. You will be a great crowd, a huge army. 16You will come against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land. In the last days, Gog, I will bring you against my land. I will do this so that the nations may know me when I show myself holy through you before their eyes. 17This is what the Lord GOD says: Are you the one I spoke about long ago? I spoke through my servants, the prophets of Israel. In those days they prophesied for years that I would bring you against Israel. 18On that day Gog will come against the land of Israel. Then my fury will blaze up, declares the Lord GOD. 19In my zeal and burning anger I declare this: On that day there will be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the animals in the field, and every creature that crawls on the ground will shake at my presence. All people on the face of the earth will shake too. The mountains will be thrown down. The cliffs will crumble. Every wall will fall to the ground. 21I will call for a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Lord GOD. Every man's sword will be against his brother. 22I will judge him with disease and bloodshed. I will pour down floods of rain, hailstones, fire, and burning sulfur. They will fall on him and his troops and on the many nations with him. 23I will show how great and holy I am. I will make myself known while many nations watch. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
