EzekielChapter 15

1Then the word of the LORD came to me. He said, 2"Son of man, is the wood of a vine any better than a branch from any tree in the forest? 3Can its wood be used to make anything useful? Can someone even make a peg from it to hang pots and tools on? 4No, it is thrown into the fire to burn. The fire burns up both ends, and the middle is blackened. Is it good for anything now? 5Even when it was whole, nothing useful could be made from it. So it is even less useful now that the fire has burned it and blackened it! 6So this is what the Lord GOD says: 'The wood of the vine is among the trees of the forest. I have given it to the fire to burn. In the same way, I will give up the people of Jerusalem. 7I will turn my face against them. They may have escaped from the fire, but another fire will burn them up. When I turn my face against them, you will know that I am the LORD. 8I will make the land empty and ruined, because they have been unfaithful,' says the Lord GOD."
