1"This is what you are to do to set Aaron and his sons apart as holy, so they can serve me as priests. Take a young bull and two rams that have no defects. 2Also take bread made without yeast, cakes without yeast mixed with oil, and thin wafers without yeast brushed with oil. Make them out of fine wheat flour. 3Put them in a basket. Bring them in the basket, along with the bull and the two rams. 4Then bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the Tent of Meeting. Wash them with water. 5Take the clothes and dress Aaron in the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod itself, and the breastpiece. Fasten the ephod on him with its woven waistband. 6Put the turban on his head. Attach the holy crown to the turban. 7Then take the anointing oil. Anoint him by pouring it on his head. 8Bring his sons too, and dress them in tunics. 9Wrap the sashes around Aaron and his sons. Tie headbands on them. The priesthood will be theirs by a law that lasts forever. This is how you are to ordain Aaron and his sons. 10Bring the bull to the front of the Tent of Meeting. Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on its head. 11Then kill the bull before the LORD at the doorway of the Tent of Meeting. 12Take some of the bull's blood and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger. Then pour out the rest of the blood at the bottom of the altar. 13Take all the fat that covers the inner parts. Take the long part of the liver and both kidneys with the fat on them. Burn them on the altar. 14But burn the bull's meat, its skin, and its dung outside the camp. It is a sin offering. 15Take one of the rams. Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on its head. 16Kill the ram and take its blood. Splash it on all sides of the altar. 17Cut the ram into pieces. Wash its inner parts and its legs. Put them with its head and the other pieces. 18Then burn the whole ram on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the LORD. It is a smell that pleases him, a food offering to the LORD. 19Take the second ram. Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on its head. 20Kill the ram and take some of its blood. Put it on the bottom of the right ears of Aaron and his sons. Put it on the thumbs of their right hands and on the big toes of their right feet. Splash the rest of the blood on all sides of the altar. 21Take some of the blood on the altar and some of the anointing oil. Sprinkle it on Aaron and his clothes. Sprinkle it on his sons and their clothes too. Then he and his clothes will be holy. His sons and their clothes will be holy too. 22Take the fat from the ram. Take the fat tail, the fat covering the inner parts, the long part of the liver, and both kidneys with the fat on them. Also take the right thigh, since this is a ram for ordaining the priests. 23Take one loaf of bread, one cake of bread made with oil, and one wafer. Take them from the basket of bread without yeast that is before the LORD. 24Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons. Wave them before the LORD as a wave offering. 25Then take them from their hands. Burn them on the altar on top of the burnt offering. It is a smell that pleases the LORD. It is a food offering to the LORD. 26Take the breast of the ram for ordaining Aaron. Wave it before the LORD as a wave offering. It will be your share. 27Set apart for Aaron and his sons the parts of the ram for ordaining them. Set apart the breast that is waved as a wave offering. Set apart the thigh that is lifted up as a raised offering. 28This will belong to Aaron and his sons. It will be their regular share from the Israelites. It is the raised offering the Israelites will give to the LORD from their peace offerings. 29Aaron's holy clothes will belong to his sons after him, so they can be anointed and ordained in them. 30One of his sons will take his place as priest. He will go into the Tent of Meeting to serve in the Holy Place. He must wear these clothes for seven days. 31Take the ram for ordaining the priests. Boil its meat in a holy place. 32Aaron and his sons are to eat the meat of the ram and the bread in the basket. They will eat it at the doorway of the Tent of Meeting. 33They must eat these things that were used to make atonement for them when they were ordained and set apart. But no outsider may eat them, because these things are holy. 34If any of the meat or bread for ordaining them is left until morning, burn up what is left. It must not be eaten, because it is holy. 35Do all this for Aaron and his sons, just as I have commanded you. Take seven days to ordain them. 36Each day sacrifice a bull as a sin offering to make atonement. Make the altar pure by making atonement for it. Anoint it to make it holy. 37For seven days you are to make atonement for the altar and make it holy. Then the altar will be most holy. Whatever touches the altar will be holy. 38This is what you are to offer on the altar every day: two lambs that are one year old. 39Offer one lamb in the morning and the other in the evening at twilight. 40With the first lamb, offer about 2 quarts of fine flour. Mix it with about 1 quart of oil from pressed olives. Also offer a drink offering of about 1 quart of wine.a 41Offer the second lamb at twilight. Offer it with the same grain offering and drink offering as in the morning. It is a smell that pleases the LORD, a food offering to him. 42For all the generations to come, this burnt offering must be made regularly. It will be made before the LORD at the doorway of the Tent of Meeting. There I will meet you and speak with you. 43I will also meet with the Israelites there. My glory will make that place holy. 44So I will make the Tent of Meeting and the altar holy. And I will set Aaron and his sons apart as holy to serve me as priests. 45Then I will live among the Israelites and be their God. 46They will know that I am the LORD their God. I brought them out of the land of Egypt so that I could live among them. I am the LORD their God.
