¹These were David's sons who were born to him in Hebron. The firstborn was Amnon. His mother was Ahinoam from Jezreel. The second was Daniel. His mother was Abigail from Carmel. ²The third was Absalom. His mother was Maacah, the daughter of King Talmai of Geshur. The fourth was Adonijah. His mother was Haggith. ³The fifth was Shephatiah. His mother was Abital. The sixth was Ithream. His mother was David's wife Eglah. ⁴These six sons were born to David in Hebron. He ruled there for seven years and six months. Then David ruled in Jerusalem for thirty-three years. ⁵These sons were born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon. Their mother was Bathsheba, the daughter of Ammiel. She had these four sons by David. ⁶David's other sons were Ibhar, Elishua, Eliphelet, ⁷Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, ⁸Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet. There were nine in all. ⁹These were all of David's sons. He also had sons by his concubines. And Tamar was their sister. ¹⁰Solomon's son was Rehoboam. Rehoboam's son was Abijah. Abijah's son was Asa. Asa's son was Jehoshaphat. ¹¹Jehoshaphat's son was Joram. Joram's son was Ahaziah. Ahaziah's son was Joash. ¹²Joash's son was Amaziah. Amaziah's son was Azariah. Azariah's son was Jotham. ¹³Jotham's son was Ahaz. Ahaz's son was Hezekiah. Hezekiah's son was Manasseh. ¹⁴Manasseh's son was Amon. Amon's son was Josiah. ¹⁵Josiah's sons were these. Johanan was the firstborn. Jehoiakim was second. Zedekiah was third. Shallum was fourth. ¹⁶After Jehoiakim came his son Jeconiah. Then came Zedekiah. ¹⁷Jeconiah was taken away as a captive. His sons were Shealtiel, ¹⁸Malchiram, Pedaiah, Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah. ¹⁹Pedaiah's sons were Zerubbabel and Shimei. Zerubbabel's children were Meshullam and Hananiah, and their sister Shelomith. ²⁰He had five other sons too. They were Hashubah, Ohel, Berechiah, Hasadiah, and Jushab-hesed. ²¹Hananiah's family included Pelatiah and Jeshaiah. It also included the sons of Rephaiah, of Arnan, of Obadiah, and of Shecaniah. ²²Shecaniah's family had six men. There was Shemaiah, and Shemaiah's sons were Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah, and Shaphat. ²³Neariah's sons were Elioenai, Hizkiah, and Azrikam. There were three in all. ²⁴Elioenai's sons were Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah, and Anani. There were seven in all.
